As a long-time city resident, I appreciate the fact that Denyse is motivated by a deep love for this City and its people, as demonstrated by the thousands of volunteer hours she’s donated to so many commissions, events, and public causes.

I also appreciate Denyse’s impressive professional and educational background. With all the complex issues facing our growing city, we need a commissioner with a strong understanding of city and regional government, who can effectively navigate the political and bureaucratic landscape.

But most of all I appreciate that Denyse is a good person--caring, open minded, willing to listen--but strong enough to stand her ground when necessary to do the right thing.

Denyse blends her professional background in planning with a personal commitment to community-mindedness. She is a hard worker who puts the time in to understand complex issues and listen carefully to the input of others. I always count on her collaborative leadership style and ability to bring out the best in people to help shape positive approaches and creative solutions. Denyse's strong understanding of regional economic, heritage, and transportation connections combined with passionate advocacy for Oregon City make her a great council member.
